Where is God on Sunday morning? Of course, God is everywhere – including the church nursery.
Mark’s Gospel tells us, “And Jesus took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” (Mark 9:36-37) Obviously, children matter to God. They matter to LifePoint church as well.
That’s why our nursery is brightly lit, and filled with learning toys of all kinds so the children can enjoy their time together with the nursery teachers. Because the safety of the children is of utmost importance to us, the nursery is staffed with individuals who have been screened and prepared to work with children – many of them are mothers themselves. Every time the nursery is open the children learn about Jesus, hear Bible stories and have opportunities to learn about prayer and following Jesus.
