Outrageous!

Whether you’re looking at the claims of Hollywood or professional sports or politicians or thinking about the price of groceries and gas…..there are a lot of outrageous things in our culture. But “outrageous” isn’t something new. In fact, many of the things that Jesus said and did were considered totally outrageous when He was on earth.

In this series we will consider some of the outrageous things that Jesus said and did, starting with His resurrection from the dead. He said He’d die and then rise again? Seriously? Yep!

And He pulled it off!

When someone tells you they’re going to die and then rise from the dead, you would be wise to listen to what they have to say……..not only about His death, burial and resurrection, but about everything.

Unimaginable Requirement (4/21/24)

Overcoming

We live in a world that has been described by many as a time of overwhelming situations, overwhelming concern. A lot of people today are overwhelmed with problems and situations beyond their control. Policymakers seem to be confused and at a loss. Watching the news is a frustrating, confusing thing and switching channels doesn’t help. Commentators, TV personalities join in this chorus of overwhelming confusion, and it isn’t just our global world, it’s our personal world. We all know the troubles of the world have a way of seeping into our lives, even as Christians, and sometimes we get overwhelmed by these problems – especially if we don’t stay focused on the principles of the Word of God.

In this Overcoming series, we will approach all of these overwhelming elements in two parts. In the first half we’re going to consider several individuals from the Bible who dealt with various challenges and yet they were able to overcome those challenges. Even though they lived hundreds, or even a few thousand years ago, the lessons from their lives still resonate with us today. In the second half of the series we’re going to look at how to overcome some specific areas of our lives where certain things creep in and threaten to weaken our faith.

God With Us

“Incarnation” is the theological term for the fact that God became flesh and dwelt among us. When things aren’t going the way you would want them to, when you get bad news, when you’re hurting, when you feel a little bit alone or you’re worried or afraid or battling some depression we often ask, “God, where are you?”

As we walk through this series, we’re going to discover that it’s easy to believe that God is with us when things are good. But it’s sometimes more difficult to sense His presence when life isn’t so good. In this series we’ll learn that no matter what life throws our way, God is with us.

What Do You Really Want?

What do you want? A new phone? A new car? That F-150 you’ve been eyeing? A snow blower (it’s coming, you know)? A new set of dishes? What do you want?

Or…….perhaps a better question……what do you REALLY want? You might be surprised to discover that what you want and what you REALLY want are actually two different things. You might also be surprised to discover that what you REALLY want and what God wants for you are actually quite similar.

If you’re scratching your head on that, be sure to check out this series.

Legacy Families

In Jesus’ story about the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man ended up in hell and he begged…BEGGED Abraham to send Lazarus back to
the land of the living so that his 5 brothers would have an opportunity to turn to God. (Luke chapter 16.) His request was denied, not because God doesn’t have mercy, but because we only get to die once. Though, what could be scarier than going to hell? Seeing your children there. Your grandchildren. Your great grandchildren.

We all want our homes and families be blessed, but for that to happen, we have to be intentional about it. Far too many families are flying by the seat of their pants. That can work for awhile, but it’s not a successful good long-term strategy.

The Legacy Families series is about raising and nurturing families that will trust in Christ for generations to come.
