Review and Renew
2017 is ending and 2018 is just hours away. Do you consider what happened in 2017? Was it a good year? Was it a bad year? Was it a, “meh” year? And what about 2018? Do you make resolutions for the new year? What can you anticipate on the horizon? What would you like to happen?
Review and Renew is a message all about considering what the past year looked like and then putting goals and plans in place to make the coming year the best it can possibly be.
Be Rich ’17
Many people in our American culture work hard to find a way to get rich, but what if we flipped that and instead of trying to “get rich” we did everything we could to “Be Rich”?
Be Rich ’17 is a series the focuses our attention off of ourselves and onto God and others and shows us how God wants us to respond to his blessings. It teaches us how to love beyond myself, serve beyond myself and give beyond myself. This series puts a fresh perspective on what being ‘rich’ really means and how we can honor God with the richness of our time, talent and treasure.
Faith, Hope or Luck
Our faith in God seems to depend on His activity—or inactivity—in our daily lives. When prayers are answered, our faith is strong. When there is no answer, or not the answer we want, our faith takes a dive. When a “miracle” takes place, our faith skyrockets, but when God seems silent, we wonder if He’s even listening.
But our faith doesn’t have to be on a roller-coaster, and when we understand what faith is we have a whole new perspective.
This series will give you a new perspective on faith, one that works when God answers prayers the way you want Him to, and works when He doesn’t answer the way we want Him to. This is a great series for people with questions about faith or wanting to explore faith. Invite a friend and join us!
Off Guard
Off-Guard: to be taken by surprise; to be caught when one is vulnerable, careless or inattentive.
Have you ever been walking down the sidewalk, either alone or with a friend, and maybe you’re listening to music if you’re by yourself or you’re having a conversation and looking around at the scenery where you’re walking and all of a sudden you find yourself flat on your face? There was a crack in the sidewalk, or maybe a tree root sticking up or something that caught the toe of your shoe and you went down.
Some sins trip us up just like that. We know about “the big” sins and we keep our eyes open to battle them, but what about some of the sins that “sneak in” and catch us off guard?
In this series we’ll take a look at some of these sins and consider what God has to say to us to help us keep our guard up against them.
Back to School 2017
We can go through life thinking our identity is tied to what we do……or worse, tied to what we’ve done. However, Pastor Cory reminds us that our true identity is not in what you look like or what you do, but in who or what you belong to.
