Legacy Families
In Jesus’ story about the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man ended up in hell and he begged…BEGGED Abraham to send Lazarus back to
the land of the living so that his 5 brothers would have an opportunity to turn to God. (Luke chapter 16.) His request was denied, not because God doesn’t have mercy, but because we only get to die once. Though, what could be scarier than going to hell? Seeing your children there. Your grandchildren. Your great grandchildren.
We all want our homes and families be blessed, but for that to happen, we have to be intentional about it. Far too many families are flying by the seat of their pants. That can work for awhile, but it’s not a successful good long-term strategy.
The Legacy Families series is about raising and nurturing families that will trust in Christ for generations to come.
Getting to Heaven
Most Americans believe in heaven. Most Americans believe in something good beyond this life that we most often refer to it as heaven, and it’s a good place and they just assume we’re gonna go there. But for most people – at least in America – for most people, they don’t really think about how to get there. They just have this confidence that things are just going to work out and they are going there. So what does it take? Be good? Be better? Follow the rules? How does it work?
This series will explore how to get to Heaven. And just a sneak-peek……..it isn’t the way many people think.
Third Person
This series, called, “Third Person”, isn’t a series about the awkward way that some people refer to themselves in the 3rd person. It’s a series about the Holy Spirit, the third Person in the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, or in some Bible translations, God the Holy Ghost. In this series we’re going to deal with several aspects of the Holy Spirit. Some of this series will be informational, some will be inspirational and some will be transformational. Join us on the journey.
New Creation
In 1982, author James Sherman wrote something that you may have heard or read before. He wrote this:
“You can’t go back and make a new start, but you can start right now and make a brand new ending.”
When you receive God’s forgiveness, often the question becomes, “What do I do next?” That’s a great question, but one that doesn’t often get answered. While this message, New Creation, isn’t comprehensive, it does offer several next steps to help you in your walk with Jesus. If you’ve been following Jesus for some time, this will be review. But if you are new in your walk with Jesus, this information will be helpful as you begin to grow in that relationship.
Why?
We all have questions for God. The call we never expect…the diagnosis that knocks us off our feet…the regrets that keep us up at night…….the questions we have about God, all of these matter. How could God let it happen? Why didn’t He answer that prayer? What does it mean when He feels distant? God welcomes our questions and invites us to ask them. In this series we’ll ask some of those tough questions, and see what God has to say to answer them.
