Reconnecting With God

Perhaps there was a time in your life when you were close to God; you felt a real connection and your relationship was strong and healthy. But then something happened…….

Perhaps you suffered a tragedy and God didn’t respond in the way you wanted Him to, so you gave up. Perhaps you “got burned” by a pastor or priest or Rabbi or a church, so you threw up your hands and walked away. Maybe you simply became complacent and let your relationship with God slide. It could even be that you went off to college and became “enlightened” by the professors who told you there is no God who loves you.

But now……….now you know there’s something missing. There’s an emptiness and you’re sensing that it’s time to reconnect with God.

Regardless of why you and God became “disconnected”, God is taking a step in your direction and we invite you to take a step (or two) toward Him.

Reconnecting with God is a series that will offer help and insight in reconnecting and restoring the relationship with Him that you once knew.

A Surprise Christmas

Don’t we all have a relative or two we try to avoid at family gatherings? Shake any family tree and all kinds of people will fall out. In fact, Jesus had a few shady characters in his family as well. Actually, he had some relatives that make your most wayward cousin look like a saint.

As we approach Christmas, we’ll take a look at some of those “shady characters” in Jesus’ lineage, and in the process discover that there’s a very good reason they’re listed. You might be……surprised…….

Transformed

God wants you to be a nonconformist. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed…..”  You’ll either be conformed or you’ll be transformed.  God created you to be unique; to be like nobody else.  You have a unique voiceprint, thumbprint, handprint and heartbeat.  God doesn’t make clones and He wants you to be unique and not conformed to anybody else’s idea of what you should be. But God, if we will allow Him, will do an incredible work of transformation in our lives.

Why We Do What We Do

There are many practices that churches enter into that may be hard to understand…..until we have “the why”.  At LifePoint, we love how the Holy Spirit is infinitely creative and God is omnirelevent and He wants to enable us to share the Gospel in creative ways, but we have some ancient practices that keep us firmly grounded in faith.  This series focuses on four of those faith practices.
