What?!?! Another message series about the Bible? Is it really necessary? Yes. Yes it is. And the reason is simple: There is a glut of Biblical ignorance in the American Church. Now, before you hit the “snooze button” and check out, this won’t be your ordinary message series about the Bible.
In this series we will seek to do two polar opposite things. First, we will work to de-mystify the Bible as we break it down and make it simple. What people often miss is the fact that in our western culture, have forgotten the power of this story. And second, we’re going to recapture a sense of awe and mystery of the Bible. It’s a story of ultimate sacrifice and gut-wrenching betrayal, it’s the story of love and romance and mystery and intrigue and murder, and we have lost that, and so this morning I want to re-wet our appetite for the story of the Bible, and then I am going to give everyone an assignment – an easy assignment – that will help get you going in reading your Bible.
